The Commonwealth Beverage Coalition is a 501(c)(4) education and advocacy organization focused on hemp-derived CBD and THC infused beverage regulations in Massachusetts.
Our mission is to promote legislative and policy reforms that align the regulation of hemp-derived CBD and THC beverage products with those of alcoholic beverages, ensuring a safe, equitable, and thriving market.
Here’s what we’re advocating for:

We advocate for a per package limit of 5mg or less of THC, an age limit of 21+, clear labeling requirements, and excise taxes akin to low-ABV RTD spirits drinks.

We propose agency oversight by the same bodies that regulate alcoholic beverages (ABCC) and hemp products (MDAR), ensuring consistency and accountability.

We advocate for licensing requirements for 1) import of hemp products to MA, 2) manufacturing in MA, 3) wholesaling in MA and, 4) retail sale to consumers in MA.
